How does budget matching work?expand_more
DriveDar compares a buyer's private budget range against a seller's private acceptable price range. If there's any overlap, it's a match, and both parties see each other as a potential fit. Neither side ever sees the other's actual numbers unless they both choose to reveal them later in chat. This keeps negotiations fair and avoids anchoring either side before a conversation even starts.
Is my budget ever shown to the other side?expand_more
Not automatically, and not as numbers. Your budget or price range is used only for the matching calculation behind the scenes. What the other person actually sees is a compatibility status: an "In Range" badge if your listings are compatible, "Not a match for your listing" if you have a listing but it doesn't overlap, or a prompt to create a listing if you don't have one yet. If you want to share your real numbers to speed up a negotiation, you can optionally reveal your range to each other through the chat interface. That's always your choice, and it only happens if both sides agree.
What does the "Any" option mean on preferences?expand_more
On fields like transmission, interior condition, exterior condition, or color, "Any" is the default and means you have no preference on that field. It doesn't exclude anything from your matches or filter results. Tapping a specific option (or several) turns "Any" off and narrows things down to just what you picked. Tap "Any" again at any time to go back to no preference.
How does nationwide search work?expand_more
By default, matching is limited to a combined travel radius: how far you're willing to travel plus how far the other party is willing to travel. Turning on "Nationwide" for a listing removes that distance limit entirely, so you'll match with compatible listings anywhere in the country. Nationwide listings still show a distance estimate so you know what you're getting into, and matches that only work because of Nationwide are labeled so you can tell at a glance.
What happens when I mark something sold?expand_more
From your listing, choose "Mark as Sold" and pick who you sold it to from your active conversations, or choose "Sold outside DriveDar" if the buyer wasn't someone you matched with here. If you pick a buyer from DriveDar, they get a prompt to confirm the sale in chat. Once confirmed, the listing moves out of your active listings and into your Transaction History, and both of you unlock the ability to rate each other. Choosing "Sold outside DriveDar" archives the listing immediately without a rating step, since there's no verified counterparty to rate.
How do ratings work?expand_more
After a confirmed sale, both the buyer and the seller can leave a one to five star rating for each other. Ratings are double blind: yours stays hidden until the other person submits theirs too, or until a set waiting period passes, whichever comes first. That way neither side can inflate or retaliate based on seeing the other's rating first. Your average rating and total number of ratings show on your profile and help build trust with future matches.
How do I edit or delete a listing?expand_more
Go to your Profile by tapping the avatar icon in the top right corner, or open the Listings tab. Under your active listings you'll see Edit, Pause, and Delete controls on each card. You can edit any field at any time, and your matches recalculate immediately.
What does DriveDar Pro include?expand_more
DriveDar Pro unlocks unlimited active listings (free accounts are capped at 2), Cold Messaging so you can reach out to any seller or buyer and not just mutual matches, Boosted Listings so your posts appear higher in browse results, and Listing Analytics so you can see views and interest on your posts over time.
How does the Early Adopter offer work?expand_more
Any account created before the offer's cutoff date can claim three months of DriveDar Pro completely free, no card required. Claiming takes one tap, since there is nothing to enter. You also get a permanent Early Adopter badge on your profile. There is no limit on how many people can claim it, only the cutoff date, so once your account exists before that date you are eligible for as long as the offer runs.
What happens when my trial ends?expand_more
Your 90 day trial simply ends and your account returns to the Free plan automatically. Nothing is charged, since no payment method was ever collected for this trial. You will get a reminder notification 14 days and again 3 days before your trial ends, so there are no surprises, plus a final notification confirming the move to Free. If you want to keep Pro features after the trial, you can subscribe at $4.99 per month anytime, during or after the trial.
How do I end my trial early?expand_more
Go to your Profile and find the DriveDar Pro card. While you are on a trial, you will see an End Trial Early option there. Since no card is on file during the trial, ending it early simply moves your account to the Free plan right away rather than canceling any billing.
What changes if I drop back to Free?expand_more
When your trial ends or you end it early, your account moves to the Free plan. You keep every listing, match, and conversation you already have, but you go back to a cap of 2 active listings, lose the ability to message outside your mutual matches, lose Boosted Listings placement, and lose access to Listing Analytics. Your Early Adopter badge, if you earned one, stays on your profile even after you drop to Free.
How do I report a suspicious listing?expand_more
On any listing detail page, tap the three dot menu in the top right corner and choose "Report Listing." Describe the issue and submit it. Our Trust and Safety team reviews every report promptly, usually within 24 hours. If you believe you've run into a scam, please also report it to your local consumer protection authority.
Can I use DriveDar in any city?expand_more
Yes, DriveDar works nationwide across the United States. Matches are location aware: you'll see sellers within your search radius, and sellers see buyers within their travel radius, with both radii combining to reach a bit further than either side could alone. In lower density areas, widening your radius or turning on Nationwide will surface more matches.
What happens when both parties express interest?expand_more
When a buyer and a seller both tap "Interested" on each other's listing, that becomes a mutual match. You'll see a match celebration screen and the chat between you unlocks automatically, so you can message freely, share details, and arrange to meet.
How do I verify my account?expand_more
Go to your Profile and tap "Edit Profile." Enter your phone number and tap "Verify." You'll get a single use code by text message. Entering that code earns you a Verified badge, which builds trust with other users and can improve your visibility in matches.
Can I list a semi truck, trailer, or piece of heavy equipment?expand_more
Yes. Tap the Commercial tab in the navigation to reach the commercial marketplace, then tap "Post" to create a listing. You can list a truck, a trailer, a tractor, a skid steer, an excavator, or a backhoe, whether you are selling one or looking to buy one. Commercial listings support all the major manufacturers (Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Wabash, Great Dane, John Deere, Caterpillar, Kubota, and more) and include fields built for each equipment type, like cab type and axle configuration for trucks and trailers, or engine hours and horsepower for tractors, skid steers, excavators, and backhoes.
Do commercial listings use the same budget privacy protections?expand_more
Yes, completely. Commercial listings run on the exact same budget privacy system as passenger vehicle listings. Sellers set a private acceptable price range, buyers set a private budget, and matching happens behind the scenes with only a compatibility status shown publicly, never the numbers. If both sides want to reveal their real ranges to speed things up, they can do that through chat, but it's always optional and always mutual.
